I do think a Y membership is a smart thing for homeschool families to have, though, because it supports the whole family, especially MOM. Today I have 3 reasons why joining the local Y is something every homeschool family should consider.
Our school year is half over and in many ways it feels like it flew by and also went at a snail’s pace. Either way, here we are at the mid-point evaluating our initial plans. We tried several new things this year, many of which worked great! A few things worked not so well. We started the year with doing more online classes, a new local drop off co-op, and have one in public school. So let’s see how each student is doing.
Somehow each year the first day meltdowns always surprise me. And at the end of day one Mama needed her quiet space and felt discouraged before we barely started our year. I forget to have the right expectations for our first day.
3rd Grade this year. He is our middle child and has the most challenges. One of the big reasons we homeschool is to effectively accommodate his Autism and sensory challenges. We customize and adapt all of his curriculum choices to fit his abilities.
Teaching Kindergarten, 3rd grade, 4th grade. We’ve picked our official start date for school and its only 2 weeks away! We found a great routine after Christmas last year so I’m trying to keep a similar flow to this year’s curriculum plan.
