There is no doubt foreign language is a more challenging class to teach in your homeschool. Unless one parent is bilingual, it is likely a class you will look to outsource locally or online.
We want to teach them the significance of generosity and giving back to others, because I feel that our end goal as parents is to raise our children to become amazing adults who we still want to spend time and enjoy being around.
Thus, our inspiration for this Nutrition Unit Study! I did the unit study with 3rd, 2nd and PreK. We got some books at the library, made a lapbook, and analyzed every meal we ate for weeks.
Each and every stage of homeschooling looks different and is equally rewarding. Homeschooling the preschool and early elementary years can feel less stressful because they are so young and it’s harder to mess up. Our homeschool journey started during the preschool years and keeping it simple is key!
This year, my 8th grader asked for a Computer Science elective. She was ready for a real world programming language after several years of Lego Robotics and other coding activities using Scratch. Thanks to her interest in Minecraft, we began looking for a way for her to begin to learn Java programming for beginners. Thanks to being a part of the Timberdoodle Blog Team, she got to take Java programming as an online self paced course.
